This policy explains how Pelican Peaks LLC uses cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies on this website. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

Optional Meta measurement is off unless you allow it. Essential browser storage is used to remember the products in your bag.

1. What these technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Local storage is a browser feature that stores information on a device. Pixels and tags are code that can send information about a page visit or action to another service. We refer to these together as "tracking technologies" where appropriate.

2. Essential browser storage

Essential storage supports features you request and cannot be switched off through our banner without impairing those features:

  • pelicanPeaksCartV3: remembers products in your bag.
  • pelicanPeaksShopperContextV1: keeps session-level landing source, page and product-category interest, active time, bag additions, and recent offer activity so the site can make relevant product and offer choices before checkout. It does not contain your email address or Shopify customer ID. When you begin checkout, a compact summary of these signals is attached to the Shopify cart and any completed order so we can evaluate shopping journeys and recommendation outcomes.
  • Shopify-account cookies: an encrypted, HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in on this website for up to 30 days; a short-lived cookie protects the Shopify sign-in redirect. Page scripts cannot read either cookie.
  • Welcome-offer session storage: remembers whether you dismissed the signup popup; no discount code is stored. Shopify account signup and optional measurement choices are separate; declining measurement does not affect the offer.
  • Needle 3 model cache: your browser may cache the local recommendation engine and model so it does not need to download them again. Recommendation inputs stay on your device and exclude your email address, Shopify customer ID, and account tokens.
  • Shopify checkout storage: Shopify may use cookies or similar technologies needed to provide secure checkout, payment, fraud prevention, cart, and order services on Shopify-controlled pages.

Our local-storage entries generally remain until you clear browser data or the entry is replaced. Shopify controls the duration of storage on its checkout pages; see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

3. Optional advertising and measurement

If you choose “Allow measurement,” this website loads the Meta Pixel (pixel ID 1423086656589330). It reports page visits and shopping actions such as product views, additions to the bag, and checkout starts. Meta may receive technical information including IP address, browser or device information, page URL, and event details. Pelican Peaks uses this information to understand advertising performance. The pixel is not used to send payment-card details.

Use the “Privacy choices” button on any page to allow or decline Meta measurement. Declining does not affect your ability to browse, use the bag, or check out. If you withdraw permission after the pixel has loaded, we stop sending new optional events and your choice takes full effect on the next page load. You may also clear browser data, although blocking essential storage can prevent bag features from working.

Global Privacy Control is an opt-out signal for sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. When your browser sends this signal, Pelican Peaks keeps optional Meta measurement off.
